The transport sector is one of the biggest contributors to climate change. It is responsible for more than 30% of the European Union’s CO2 emissions, 72% of which come from road transport.

The EU’s strategy to reduce these emissions is very clear: to force manufacturers to sell more electric cars under the threat of million-dollar fines. However, the culprits of these emissions are not only passenger cars, but also motorcycles, vans, buses, and trucks. The latter, although they represent only 2% of vehicles in the European Union, are responsible for 22% of CO2 emissions from road transport. And forecasts predict that road freight transport will increase by 56% between 2010 and 2050.

The world’s leading manufacturers with electric trucks for sale and in development are Volvo, Man, Mercedes Benz, Daf, Renault, Tesla, Irizar, Nikola, Byd, etc.
