“The electric truck will have up to 800 kilometers of range.”

The Tesla Semi is the electric truck of Elon Musk’s brand. It will have up to 804 kilometers of autonomy and will be available starting at $150,000, the equivalent of about 136,000 euros. Its arrival is expected in 2022.

Elon Musk said during 2020 that Tesla was ready to “take the Semi to production” and also hired staff to handle its assembly, although in the short term the brand’s priority is to launch the manufacture of its new 4680 battery cells. Tesla is also rumored to be working on an electric van with a capacity for up to 12 passengers.

On February 2021, Twitter account @klwtts spotted a new Semi prototype near Sacramento. The brand has not confirmed whether it is just a prototype or if it is the production version of the truck.

Despite this, Elon Musk has suggested that the electric truck will not see the light of day as a production vehicle until 2022 because, currently, Tesla does not have enough battery cells to tackle the project. “We are too limited by cells, but it will probably come next year,” said the brand’s top executive.
